Nicole Carvajal was born in 1948 in Santiago, Chile. She had her profesional education in different countries in the world. Chile, Italy and The Netherlands. Carvajals surrealistic oil paintings with clear forms and special color combinations are rooted in the magic surrealistic South American School of painting. Besides that, her work is influenced by the Dutch Golden Age Painters ( 17th century). After traveling and studying in Spain and Italy, Carvajal arrived in the Netherlands to finish The Gerrit Rietveld academy, Amsterdam 1979 and started her professional career. The Stedelijk museum De Lakenhal, Leiden has a couple of her paintings in her collection and determined her work as virtuoso and her as an authentic and very important artist.
